Best exhaust for 996 GT2
Hi everyone,
I'm new here, I live in France and I have a 2003 996 GT2 Black basalt, this is an incredible machine ! It's my 1st Porsche ... But I would like to upgrade the exhaust system for a much more louder sound !
I would like the BEST in build quality, best in weight, Best in sound ...
I head about Europipe exhaust in belgium and I called Stef but he stop produce the stage 2 exhaust ... So He told me the stage 1 is ok but I'm scary it's not enought loud ...
So what is the best (in everyway) exhaust for my 996 GT2 ?
Thank !

congrats on the car! get some pictures up in the GT2 pic thread
to be fair, there is no 'best' exhaust out there, they all have pro's and con's.
I'd start by looking at a few RL 'local' favourite choices, Speedtech(John is very nice and helpful guy to deal with), Kline, Unobtanium, Milltek (loved that one-100cell version, great sound and flow but heavy), UMW/Europipe, etc etc.
I currently have NHP catted straight pipes, pretty bad for street/highway cruising but fantastic at track and 'hard' road drives
Cheers,
Rob

Lots of beautiful quality exhausts represented here.
I too am searching for an exhaust (eventually; just got the car).
As an ex aircraft mechanic and inspector the one I am leaning towards is the UMW system. It has (expensive and great) aircraft quality band connectors at several important locations including before and after the cats and between the split mufflers.
This means one can tune the exhaust to your needs as time goes on.
Bad cat ?
Swap it out.
Want it louder ?
Swap out a muffler or take out the cat.
PS Kevin uses the best cats.
Priced very reasonably for what it is.
PS; his website sucks
Come on Kevin clean that thing up

the exhaust for the turbo design hasn't changed since 2001. same design just bigger more drone and louder. unobtanium exhaust changed all that . full tig welds so stunning its a shame to hide them. hemholtz tubes that NOBODY has ever done before and they are the only ones who have figured out how to eliminate drone with an exhaust that can be loud proud and 3" from front to rear. there is none better. stainless titanium you choose. want cheap? better look elsewhere. want the best ? look nowhere else
