Have I made a mistake?

I just came across this thread and felt the same way after selling my NSX (which I loved) and bought the GT3. Around town, it was very capable, but harsh. Then my first day at Mosport I watched 2 911s go into the wall hard and thought "OMG, what have I done?".
But after one session on the track I knew I'd keep this brilliant car forever.

We'll in case anyone was wondering I sold the GT3 this week. In a moment of weakness I came to my senses and realized that at this point in my life it's not the right car for me. I had grand ambitions of tracking the car but the reality is I would not be able to do more than 3 or 4 weekends a year and could not really afford to right one off -a real possibility from what I've seen. Furthermore, I really did not like driving the car on the street. Not because it was harsh (my 993 was set-up far more aggressively) but because it was just to boring to drive most of the time. I came to the conclusion that I loved owning a GT3 but not necessarily really loved driving one. To my big surprise the GT3 is not without its faults. Like all the GT cars of old, it's a weapon that will shine very very brightly for certain tasks but then less so for others. Honestly, comparing it to my many European road trips in my; albeit heavily modified; 993 I have to admit that the 993 was fun to drive MORE of the time. Maybe I'm 'old school'? My only regret is that I really, really wish I had bought one when I was living in Europe.
So it's time to move on. Someday a GT3 will again take up a spot in my garage but in the meantime the hunt is on for a nice 964 or maybe a 993.

Alex, I wish you had told me.. I would have traded my 964 straight up, including my awesome MY02 wheels for your GT3 and problem solved!!!
