List of "Must haves" for your GT3
Guys, I'm constructing a list of must-haves for my GT3... Please advise...
I've ordered some control arm shims for the fronts, and will likely buy rear outer control arms to go with the inner pieces I had left over from my last 996 P-car...
Wing Shims... 4 degree or 8 degree? I see them available thru suncoast... What do you advise?
Wheel stud kit... I hate the wheel bolt thing, and have a locking wheel bolt kit included from when the car was new... Def. going to upgrade to wheel studs...
What else would you "have" on hand just incase...
Mike

Rollbar and harness hardware came with the car. I have multiple seats, and will order another seat base and slider.
Coolant hoses will be done when the clutch comes out. I also plan to have Matt at GT Gears do the LSD as well.
Was thinking more specific to GT3 only bits...

Hey Mike - now the fun really begins
Here is my thread with all the suggestions from the 6-3 forum. I went with the 4 deg shim to avoid too much drag on the long straights. love the cup cable and 997 more metally shifter, spr pedals w extra grip, Voltphreaks! (group buy on now) and Hans harness. Cup splitter and brake ducts also worth it. But first step has to be SRF before even 10 laps on a track although you likely know that well. I shd also mention the AIM solo DL and GoPro are a reasonable and very user friendly combo for recording and analysing your track/coach time.

Happy to answer any questions re the above while it's just fresh in my mind. Cheers, Matt

How much is to much. My list in order of priotity
Rear toe links
Track alignment
Safety ie roll bar, seats, harness
Shocks and springs my choice Motion Control doubles
Change gearing new 3/4/5 and rebuild LSD when the engine is out for this add clutch flywheel new front and rear main seals, waterpump, hoses and fitting repair this is the big $$$$$ mod
IMHO YMMV

Start with the fundamentals - braking and alignment.
Cup brake cooling ducts are a "must"
I found 3 sets of wheels were a "must" too. One set for street tires, one set for soft tires (100tw), one for super softs.

Sorry man. I was thinking more in terms of things specific to only the GT3 model, like the rear wing shims as an example.
I've had so many track cars over the years, to me the whole "Seats/harness/rollbar/track pads/brake ducting/alignment" thing is assumed...
And that fuel pump/assembly DIY is priceless! Well done.
Just ordered the 4 degree shims from Suncoast for $40 shipped...
