I do not make this stuff up. Case in point. Hans has instructed for many years with the NER PCA and he has owned his GT3 since new. He is not only a very good driver, he has vast knowledge of the GT3. I have never seen shims on his car. BTW, he is selling this package, GT3, spares, and trailer. Asking $68K. The Cayenne is also for sale. $5k - the front differential is gone plus it has well over 100k miles.

Hey Dave - I'm sure you're not making it up for sure. And like many here I'm here to learn and in a few cases - not many - share my experiences if they might be useful.
I had my wing extended w/o shims and thought it was better than stock ... Until I noticed that with just a bit of pressure (by hand, not forceful) the wing would flex and drop. So I surmise that with 10+ kg of air pressure across the length of the wing, it is likely being forced down thus negating the added tilt. Also from the way the metal settings are mounted in the wing, I'd estimate there at cracking/dislocation risks to running the wing without the load spreading the shims provide.
Ps - I shd add my experience is based on my RS wing

I disagre with all this must do crap for GT3 specifically
Make sure you have proper safety gear, as you would in any track car
Next just get some R comps, and cup ducts
Then go dominate, or learn how to drive well enough that you can

YMMV.
Don't need R-comps as a must have.

Installed the 4 degree shims yesterday and then drove it quite a bit yesterday evening and noticed the car isn't as "nervous" feeling. This was pretty surprising, since I didn't think the change would effect it much at "spirited" highway speeds.
Still need an alignment, but this gets me closer...

Mike, don't forget if you are running the shims with the extra DF, you need to run the cup lip to balance it out. The cup lift reduces lift in the front and also looks 100% better than the stock lip. It's cheaper too!
