Please Take A look At My Rotor
- Front 996 GT3 Girodisc
- PFC 06
- SRF
- 996 GT3 Cup cooling ducts
- ~14 events; all PCA DEs in mostly White & Black
Without being alarmist, it looks kinda bad to me, but want a second opinion. My next event is in March at VIR; not sure if I should replace before then.
Is it worth the risk? Of course not, but neither do I want to discard a fully functional rotor either.
Thanks

Personally, I'd still run them as there is still life in them. However, I would have another set on standby reedy to go should they start to turn south quickly. The thickness is obviously fine based on the slots but the cracking is just starting to get out of control. Any wider or cracking that splits at the edge of the rotor and it I'd change.
12 events or 12 days? Heck, I could only dream of getting 12 days out of a set of rotors! I think mooty only gets 12 minutes per set

Change it. YMMV but my rule of thumb has been to gauge depth with a fingernail and if it catches in the crack or the crack extends to an edge - replace the rotor. It's probably ok but not for long and I wouldn't want to guess at "how long" that "long" will be. Had a smaller, more narrow crack than that before our Nov VIR event. Removed calipers for winter rebuild and noticed that crack had virtually exploded into a chasm about 1/2" wide at the outside and completely split the rotor. Again, probably ok but I don't like probably.

PFC get rotors very hot, you may try pagids rs29 pads instead, they do not bite as hard as PFC so it feels different but your rotors may last at least twice longer with them.

i'd run with them, have run with them looking like that and I am running with rotors like that now. But that's how I roll. Do what you and your wallet feel comfortable running.

These rotors are done for. I wouldn't use them on the street much less the track.

Replace them. I don't personally like the difference in appearance from the left section to the right section in regards to the wear pattern near the crack. To me, this indicates a difference in level between the sections. Not safe.
