Ha! No way. The last one we had here also had sunroof delete. It's a trend.

I'm pretty sure the 996 GT3 was not available with a sunroof. It did not have to be deleted.

One of the reasons they're in demand.

Will never understand why Porsche would put a sunroof on a GT3.

Probably b/c not a single one of us mortals would know the difference on track with or without a sunroof.

A sunroof delete option would have been nice though.

Some of us appreciate the additional headroom no sunroof affords us.

+1

Sunroof on a gt car should only be an option for those that want it IMHO

At 6'4", I wouldn't be able to comfortably fit with a sunroof...and I already have lower BK mounts for my clubsport seats.

Don't follow your logic. I'll stipulate that what you've said is true, but if that were the reason Porsche puts sunroofs on GT3s, I could argue that most (maybe nearly all) amateur racers with GT3 Cups wouldn't know the difference either if their car had a sunroof ... but AFAIK Porsche doesn't sell Cup cars with sunroofs.

Suspect Porsche puts sunroofs in GT3s simply because they can charge more for the car ... just like they've been doing for years on nearly all Porsche coupes sold in the U.S. But if any Porsche doesn't need a sunroof it's the GT3.

My logic wasn't the reason PCNA and PAG put them in but rather it was tongue in cheek since so many complain about the extra weight in the roof and not a single person here could tell the difference. I agree with most that it should have been a no cost option to delete.

FYI....They don't charge more for the car with the sunroof, it's in all the 997 non RS GT3 cars standard. Except the CUp of course
