Previous owner of my car had the race shop change out all the rivets w/ bolts.. it obviously holds really well, but as others have mentioned, if you rip the splitter, you will do damage to the bumper.
On my way home driving in the down pour from New Jersey a few weeks ago, the car hit some standing water (in pretty slow speed) and the Cup splitter caught water and ripped a few holes on one side of the bumper. It is not a big deal, I used some plastic washer for the bolts on those ripped holes.. (I also have 3M double sided tape across) but be prepared that it can happen.
The good thing is that it doesn't come off for "no reason".. (if you just run over grass, scrape the ground, air get in between, etc.)
So you win some, you lose some.. !

I have a couple of ripped off Cup splitters in the garage to experiment with.
I'm going to try cutting saw slots at 6 inch intervals vertically in the splitter which will allow flexing of a segment that contacts the ground but not significantly reduce the aero effect even at high speed.
Having checked.....
Note - wont work - the splitter is too thick and rigid to allow any flexing........
