Default Update:stripper project 6 gt3

Hey guys. Just like to keep you updated on my small project. As you guys know from a previous thread that my 6gt3 is undergoing "want to be a stripper" surgery and finally had the full rollcage done courtesy of Tony of TcDesign. He's done an excellent job and I'm a happy camper. At time when car got towed there and discussed with Tony he recomended the hans pro racer seatnon xl because my *** actually fits in it so went ahead and had him order the seat the slider and the uprites and he modified the driver floor for me. All harness attachment points are affixed to the chassis. I had it toweed back to my mechanic to have it repainted inside both doors and inside as well. One pic is so much has been taken off that as you see the car on the flat bed wheel to fender sits very high- me thinks it needs to be reraligned and lowereed. I plan to run stock suspension and get some base laptimes then go with motons for next season and on tyhe way lightening the body ie hood/roof and rear lid. It's been kinda a long journey but I think its worth it. I just love this car and it always gives me a smile whatever i do to it. Here are some pics. Mike

Nice going Mike but man, I've got to find a vaccine against that bug cause that would hurt.

Can't wait to read your first driving impressions.

Did you ever post your list of mods?

Q: What does the car and the bathroom in this picture have in common?

A: Both should have doors, but are missing.

Prior to this decision to go stripper- car had a copans 4:00 rp/ Guard 80/80 lsd with casing/ cup lwf with 3.8 rsr pressure plate and fabspeed muffs with cat delete. Other then that pretty stock : ). I had a chance to drive Mooty's stripper for one session(that time it was 2850 lbs- now 2700 or below)- it was a rocket- going thru braking zones and turns was simply awe inspiring. I never would imagine doing it if mooty had not done it(partly- actually mostly my blame) but 6gt3's kicksass at the track. Mike

Thanks Mike, and if I understand, the best way to avoid the virus is to NEVER accept an offer to test-drive a stripper... Got it

Mike, looks awesome!! So new doors too?? (they are white in the pic you posted above)

A question regarding the cage design.. does Tony feel there's no need for anything more at the A-pillar area? (If you look at the 7GT3 Clubsport front section, you will see a slightly different design).. Just curious.. No doubt "weld in" is stronger so maybe there's no reason to go for that extra bar?

Wow! That is what i call stripped

Any idea what the car currently weighs?

Side note: Are you selling any of the bits that you stripped out of the car?

I'm not a rollbar designer but there must be a reason PAG had to fortify the clubsport version for the 7gt3 and you're probably right that since my cage is boxed and welded in to chassis maybe its not needed(woulda been nice if clubsport had the knee and door bars because it does look very robust). The doors are from mashaw which saves a ton of weight which needs to be painted-if I was Canadian I probably would have left door white and put a red maple leaf there with my car number : ). Mike

The 7GT3 clubsport bar does have 2 door bars now, but still, if you are going with this type of stripping project, I think a completely weld in cage like what you got is the way to go.. !

I asked Mooty once if Tony can make a cage like that and installed it in a car that still has interior.. that would be pretty awesome.. !!
