An interior + a full cage? What's the point? So you can drive on the street.....wearing your helmet?

Just so when you are at the track, you have the protection of full cage.. but for someone who's not ready to completely strip the car yet..

Nice progress Mike! I'm kinda broke now so I really shouldn't be looking at threads like this.

You don't want a full cage for the street. Great way to get brain damage when some latte sipping, cell phone texting moron decides to T-bone you and your head bounces off the roll bar.

I certainly understand the potential risk..

But I guess one just have to balance it with the potential risk of not having the front cage while at the track.. ?

But yeah, it is a tough choice, for sure...

Here's the factory Clubsport rear + front section looks like for the 7GT3.. notice the multi-bars construction at the A-pillar...

It would be interesting to find out exactly why this change was made. Rules for a particular series Porsche was interested in? Or were they trying to beef up an area that has shown failures on the track? Or....?

I'm as curious as you are about this.

Reminds me of a couple old Sahlen's cars I just saw...(these were well used) race cars that looked exactly like yours.

Yeah, Allan.. the 6GT3 clubsport cage front section does not have that.. it is only found on the new 7GT3 clubsport cage...

Yes probably following Cup cage changes..

Also added second side bar..

Cage and street driving I did it for some time but with 6p and a padding I found by accident.
Not ideal for sure but not as dangerous as 3p and cage without proper padding..

Also very important is how close or far from the bars your head is..
A shorter person could get away with..
