Default Spare does not fit in trunk

After much research I bought a spare from a turbo with PCCB understanding that it would fit the GT3. I also understood (assumed) that it would fit in the trunk (similar to on the C4) where the GT3 has a foam tray. I removed the foam tray and sure enough the mounting hole to screw and secure the spare was there but the spare will not fit. It appears to be too big to screw down to the floor as in the C4. Am I missing something? Does the spare fit over the front brakes but is just too big to fit in the trunk? How/where is it stored on the turbo? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well... By what I have always seen the spare is standing up and held into place up against the bulkhead ahead of the gas tank of every later 911 or Boxster I have looked into. Maybe you need to let the air out of the tire? I dunno. I have driven without a spare now for 15 years in multiple cars.

There's a 6speedonline topic on that. If spare is too wide ie 21 inch diameter it won't fit underneath so it has to be propped vertically and at and angle to clear hood. I don't know how it's mounted. I was thinking deflating tire as well. Mike

I should clarify - this is the collapsible spare - similar to the one found in the C4 - which is already defleated. In the C4 it is stored flat on the floor rather than against the bulkhead as in the C2. The GT3 has the same body as the C4 and therefore has the space to store the deflated spare.
Thanks

Is it u can't get in due to height when tire flat or width? Isn't tt spare tire wider in diameter then c4 spare tire?

It seems to have too large a diameter to fit flat on the bottom

Default turbo spare

The turbo inflatable spare is on a 17" wheel and it fits, although it is a tight fit. The wheel goes face down and you have to work it side to side, reach back and pick up the rear and push. Unless you ask someone who has done it and found that putting it in a plastic or other smooth type bag allows it to slip past the carpet more easily.

I always wonder how anyone actually plans to use a spare tire if you ever do get a flat? You will not be able to fit any regular wheel in the trunk after the spacesaver has been mounted, and a rear wheel will probably not even fit inside the car even without a cage? Will you just leave it at the road?

Default what to do with the flat

I just packed a 10' bike lock cable and figured I would secure it to a pole/tree, etc. until I got back. Can't really do much with one GT3 wheel.
