!Suspension Help! Gurus welcome.
Was changing out wheels and noticed this on the left rear. Looks like the drop link mount point is not perpendicular to the wheel. I loosened the top plastic ring and tried to push it back into place, but it kept moving/popping into this odd position. When the car is on the ground, it looks like the droplink is a bit crooked, but it apparently still functions correctly.
Is this normal? Thoughts?
Thanks!

I put the car on stands, and loosened the lock nut with a pair of channel locks. I put the bracket back at 90 degrees to the rotor and tightened the lock nut. I didn't have the right tool, or torque wrench, but I pulled it pretty tight. I'll keep an eye on it on the track.
Seems better now.

TD, not sure where you can obtain the correct wrench, i cut one out of some 6061 plate, but if it loosens gain make or borrow someones, its hard to get a good bite on that nut with channel locks and will also chew that nut up pretty good. but i'm guessing it just came loose for some reason / not tightened correctly at some point maybe ??
best of luck

You need a spanner wrench to tighten it to 44 ft lbs. At thesame time you tight the lock Ring, you need to hold the droplink bracket firmly. Best is to take the shox out. It's a 10 min job to take it out. Then you can tighten it in a vise. You can buy a set of spanner wrenches from bilstein for around $30 or get a good quality snap on for $50/ea
