Default Tire Dilemma

I need new street tires very, very soon (cord is almost visible).

I am running Yokohama AD08s and just my luck the rear tires are backordered - I am told due to the crisis in Japan.

Curiously, PS2 rears are also on backorder!

If I could find AD08s I just need to replace the two rear tires, but I can't.

Any suggestions?

If only for street, I would highly recommend Toyo Proxes 1; very quite, smooth and great in rain.

I thought NT-05 does not have the right size for GT3 fitment? I was considering the NT-05 when I purchased my last set of tire.. ended up going w/ Yoko AD-08..

Hey Marv,

Did you check with Discount Tires? They show 295/30/18 available for sale as a AD07, but per Yoko's site, that would actually be an AD08 since they only manufacture a few odd sizes in the AD07. Anyway, might be worth a call.

Good luck.

I was thinking NT-05s for track rain days on the 996.3--8.5F 11R
Anyone see a problem running 245/40/18 and 295/35/18?
I do have the NT-05s on my Subi and are great in the rain and dry but I do have awd.

The rear concerns me a little bit.. 295/35 vs. 295/30.. (with ABS issue) But I have never tried it myself so I don't know..

Absolutely ZERO problems. I have run the sizes on my GT3 and my AWD Turbo. The Turbo is much more sensitive but they are within the allowable variance.

I can confirm 35 rears are no problem. I've been running RA-1s 35/35/18 with no issues .

What does it do to the speedo?

I would assume that it would change the accuracy.

Also, I am amazed that they would fit given I can't put a skinny finger between the front wheels and the inner fender wall. ;-)

with a 245 you may rub your inner fender liner at full lock. No big deal.
