The fittings in the manifolds are easily weldable by a qualified welder unless you just want to spend two hundred more bucks. They referred to 6 fittings we welded 8 in my 04.

^ Yes, I e-mailed and asked about that. Reply was that they were only aware of six and that the kit was 3 big and 3 small, and all were straight fittings (no elbow).

One of the fittings that failed on mine was a curved one under the power steering.

I know, seems to be one of the really common ones.

Figured I'd cross post this:

If you own a car with the GT1 engine and it has failed this way, give them your VIN. If you won't do it for your own sake, please do it for the rest of us. Otherwise, it looks like we're just mice.

I just filled out the NHTSA complaints form.
Hope others are doing the same.

Man I love RL

Thanks.

Surprisingly cheap for what they call the "bracket".

Also interesting how, some dealers replace the manifolds (bracket), and some re-glue the offending couplings. Wonder if it depends on the dealer or on which coupling let go.

Mine were re-glued on my 01 turbo, right before I bought it. Haven't had issues "yet" but plan to remove the whole setup and have it all welded up.
