I'll now have the cannisters to help balance the car via pressures. If I don't like it I'll go back up to 700/900 but doubt I'd ever run the stiffer springs again....
Interesting. I am going to 630/860 from 1400/1600 which was from 800/900 (and others prior to that).

I'm hoping this will be the last change for a while....so far the car has felt the best at 800/900 w/ just a bit too much US that I couldn't dial out.

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the new lower rates.

So she was bouncing all over the place with the firm springs right? You will get more grip for sure. My only concern for you and JR is going with a drastic jump in rates that It will be hard to compare. I would recommend smaller jumps.

Yes, my home track is (bumpy) Summit Point and although I did manage a PB there at the CR in Oct by a tenth with those springs, I wasn't happy w/ the handling overall and liked 800/900 better. The car felt better at VIR which is smoother, but I spend more time at Summit so I'm going down on the spring rates again. I'm also getting the JRZs rebuilt for the first time so that should help things.

Also, check out this vid at VIR of the right side of the car going airborne in the climbing Esses at about 120 mph, I'm the car in front. http://www.vimeo.com/14753881

The car didn't do that w/ lower spring rates.....or I must have hit the curbing just right ( or wrong rather).

Put my car on the dyno last week. Best run was 331.5whp. This would allow me to run R compounds and weigh as little as about 2,885lbs(without adjustment, 2,951 with if I'm calculating correctly). My car, with my 200lb butt installed and 3/8 fuel weighs just over 3,300lbs!!

Anyone running Hoosier slicks on their GT3? I could do that and easily still run in TTS. Currently running R6's and doing fine locally, but no prayer nationally at that weight. With slicks, I'd "only" be about 150lbs over minimum wt.

I've only seen one other GT3 dyno that low. Most are 350 and up. Was it a Dynojet?

For you to be competitve in TTS you have to lose some weight and maybe add a little HP or get another dyno . Slicks are certainly faster than any R compounds, but weight is even more impactive....

I have heard about that car and its 80k+ mileage. Its dyno numbers are just not showing its true output as it is faaaassstt. Both of the Colorado GT3's I am aware of show lower than normal dyno numbers. I think its the calibration of the dyno or the abundance of thin air there that is working against them.

High altitude can be killer on NA motors. Take a dyno on a sealevel track and the difference could be quite a bit.

Yes, Dynojet SAE corrected, etc as required by NASA. Interestingly, another NASA and PCA instructor was at the track this weekend with his 10k GT3 (stock except Europipes). His dyno numbers, (same altitude, different dyno) were almost identical

Agreed, but I like my AC and stereo! it's my only street car, other than 3/4 ton pickup/tow vehicle. Even if I could afford it, I'd sooner buy a 996 Cup than try to make this car into one.

The good news is that the car is competitive locally as-is. Bumped myself to TTU this weekend as there were not enough TTS to qualify for contingency. Won TTU Saturday by .8 seconds on really old Hoohoos. 2nd place guy in C6 ZO6 mounted stickers for Sunday, so I did too. Beat him by .05 second and set new TTU track record

The stickers were worth 1.8 seconds on 1:02 track.

JR944 - I'm in the same boat. Car is more track than street, but I simply can't bring myself up to start taking interior, A/C, etc out of the car. I still enjoy driving it to work on an occasional sunny Friday or scaring little old ladies around the shopping center.

My car dynoed at 325 hp on a dyno dynamics, which is only accepted by our local region here. I still need to find a dynojet and do an "official" pull - my guess I'll end up in mid 350s.

I just ordered a set of Forgelines to try an mount the Hoosier slicks that have been sitting in my garage for 4 months now. My fenders aren't rolled so fronts at 265/645 may not fit, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Maybe the slicks won't prove to be faster than A6s, but I certainly hope to get more life out of them (A6s only lasted 14 heat cycles before front tires corded).

With Fabspeed maxflow exhausts and BMC F1 air filter as the only upgrades my 04 GT3 did 359 on the dyno jet for TTS in the Great Lakes Region.

The Hoosier slicks, depending on compound (GT,80,100) will most likely NOT be faster than A6's. They will most likely last longer but they probably will not even get hot enough to stick during a typical TT session.
