Default Clear Bra.. How to clean over it?

Excuse my probably ignorant question, my new to me 3 has a 3M Bra and I'm unsure of the following... Can you use cleaner such as EZ-Off and/or Alcohol on a 3M clear bra to remove rubber and other marks on a car without discoloring or weakening the film? Also do you wax over the 3M bra the same as you do the car?

Plexus plastic polish is what I have used in the past. Spray it on and wipe it off. They use it on airplane windshields and canopies. Otherwise just wash and wax as normal.

3M Adhesive Remover is the best product I have ever found. Be very careful with abrasives. The 3M product can scratch if you rub anything too hard on it. A microfiber dipped in the adhesive remover works for me but you can be more agressive on painted surfaces than the filmed areas.
to finish, buff out the film with a polish and all those rubber marks vanish. Seal and/or wax over as per normal.

I use the Plasx from your local auto parts store. It's a liquid that works great on the clear bra and plastic bumper and side skirts of the car as well.

These guys - http://www.premiermobilegroup.com/index.shtml - have the magic stuff that really gets rubber marks off the clear bra. Believe me, I've tried pretty much everything and their stuff just works effortlessly.

Turtle Wax produces a liquid wax called something like "ICE". My 3m installer recommends it, since it doesn't leave a white film on the edges.

To answer your question, yes you can wax it after washing it, but you should be careful not to treat it with harsh chemicals too much. It's very rare for it to yellow, unless it's been in the sun with excessive heat over years and it would really show is discoloration over white paint mostly.

Gently massage the bra with saliva taking extra care at the headlights.

Standard 'cleaner wax' products like Meguiars work very well for removing rubber marks on both clear bra and paint. I would not use anything harsh like alcohol; you can haze the material. Ping me if you need any specific help. This is one of my specialties

Shoot my buddy Chris an email at chris@lamin-x.com. He owns Lamin-x and has a lot of experience with the clear bras made by other companies. He can fill you in on what works and what doesn't. Plus he is local to us, lives up in Blue Ridge and races a BMW E36.

Auto body supply shops sell "prep-sol" or other similar pre-painting cleaner. Safe for paint and ClearBra and removes tar, bugs, rubber, etc., including wax, without rubbing. I then treat my 3M Clear Bra like any other painted surface with polish/wax.

I like Rejex over the Paintshield that I have, after I clean it with Meguires cleaner wax or 3m adhesive remover
