Well claiming the wrong hp for a mk2 GT3 which inflates their claim by 20bhp is a bad start...

I'd be a bit worried they were selling me a map for a mk1...

If Softronic is claiming this number shame on them. But if Vivid is claiming the number without Softronic knowing, then shame on them

It's amazing the crap these guys try to peddle preying on gullible owners looking for that "magic pill". The worst part.....THEY KNOW THEY ARE NOT VALID CLAIMS WHEN THEY WRITE THE ADS!

Dan where does it say it is a Mk2 in the ad, am i missing something
I had my mk1 remapped by Wayne Schofield to 385 bhp , took him many hours and delighted by the result, curious about this ad.

It says it in the ad along with a pic of a mk2.

'Softronic ECU Flash Porsche 996 GT3 3.6L 02-05'

Did you not even read the ad?

I also find it comical that they claim the dealer cannot tell you have flashed your car on the PIWIS system. The system will log how many times the ECU has been flashed and the softronic software cannot change that. But then again, if you think for $1,200 you can gain 30hp that the engineers left on the table then you deserve to be swindled.

Sorry my browser only shows a bit about Mk2 and Cayman at the end and no photos.
I did read the ad actualy but I still don't see this is quoting ( or misquoting ) power figs for a Mk2, it seems to me to quote for a Gt3. I probably am missing something so don't be too rude again if I am.

It mentions the model years and has a pic of a mk2. That's explicit enough for me. Aren't softronic US based anyway, where there are no mk1s?

http://www.softronic.us/buynow.php

Maybe they are claiming wheel hp lol.

Well with exhaust + cats + header you can but I don't know how much they contribute and whether peak or lower down power band.

I guess conceivably they could flash into RAM rather than ROM? I know of some maps that disappear when battery is disconnected, although I think they are more switchable ones so the code is on the ROM somewhere.

Anyway my guess is they are just flashing in using the standard protocol which they must have reverse engineered. Credit to them for that as most of the german tuners still seem to need to pull out eeproms!
