So what is the deal on the price since it was listed at $49,000??? Says the clutch was replaced in ad. A minor item I noticed from photo is the front lip is missing. Car was sold at auction in Sept 2008.

That car is advertised online for 49k. I saw it on autotrader or cars.com.

I think in no way does this establish "The Price" as the circumstances were unusual.

IMO 996 GT2's and 3"s have done very well as far as minimal depreciation considering the economic environment, normal depreciation curves, and the advent of the 997 lines for these cars.

use your friends.
THEY are storage units.
do not keep receipts.
i have a commercial grade shredder in my home office. big enough to shred fingers too.
do not write chk or use credit card. they leave trails.
NEVER let your friends meet wife. they always slip.
NEVER give them your home phone. one morning a fellow RL called my wife... "did john leave yet..." (he was asking did john left for track yet)... good think he didn't say "track". my wife replied, yeah, he went to the site... whew... it would have been UGLY.

It is provided on the dealership's web site.

The price is low if the car checks out good in all areas.
