mooty, did you get the car in seattle? The Ferrari shop had a grey one with 5,800 miles reasonable options.

having searched the country for a 997GT3 over the last 2 months, I had a tough time finding a car that had no body damage of some sort. Even CPO cars from dealers. They can CPO a car with two panels being repaired. Bumper covers do not count. That means front fender, hood and bumper repaired can be CPOed. Also, if insurance did not fix the car CarFAX will not have the record. Seams the lower the milage the greater the chance that it had been repaired. At least on the 13 or so cars that I investigated.

like i said, most cars below mkt price are flawed. the mkt is transparent and efficient.

once in a blue moon you see a desperate seller. otherwise, goodluck

Wow,

How something can snowball fast.

Long story, but in a nut shell the car will be having a PPI tomorrow by a close friend of mine who is inspecting it personally. He has the heads up on everything posted to date from the forum.

If the car is not as described, its over.

I had found another one, a red 2004 GT3 in Seattle that had, as it turned out over $42,000 in front end damage repaired. Amazing what people try and hide. As an FYI, on that red one, Carfax indicated a motor vehicle accident, Carproof indicated the same, but advised the dollar amount of the repair. Big difference.

Will advise as soon as I know.

Stratocaster...how did you find out about the full repaint/bodywork?

Amazing; my sales rep mentioned the front bumper had been resprayed and thats it.

Rennlist has been a great source of information.

What we need is a registry however. I ain't got the smarts to run one.

that is my old car. It was a Porsche press car that had $47,000 IN REPAIRS before Porsche sold it to me. The Carfax is from when I was rear ended with $24K in repairs. So the car has had all panels repairs at least once. From what I was told be an eye witness the big off was @ VIR near turn 10 just after cresting a rise and the guy lifted. If you know anybody getting the car have them PM me and I will fill them in. It is a good car but at a discount price. I leased it put 47,950 miles on it and turned it in. Was a great deal for me.

i took a quick look at the car noted above at Ferrari of Seattle. it's pretty nice. but i did not go to the detail that Roberga has with is 997 search. but that sure seems to be a long way to go (from Eastern CDA) to get a car. have some patience and find one on the East Coast.
