Found this one and am surprised at the low price.

No affiliation, just passing it along.

65K for an 03 GT2? I'm stumped on that one. You can barely get an 04GT3 for that price. Is it wrong to think scam first?

I followed that car when I was on my search. The relatively high milage made me reject it. I spoke to the dealer. It's been listed on ebay at different times by both the dealer and the private seller. BTW, the present dealer (I remember the flooring in the photo) is a "hot rod shop" (notice the cars in the background) with absolutely no knowledge of Porsches or real high performance cars that don't have pushrod engines. (Look'ie here Clem, darn ingines in the trunk!). They are selling the car on consignment.

I wish I could get 65k for my GT3... Scam was definitely my first thought. Something wrong was my second. LOL

24K miles is 'relatively high' mileage?

Yes. In my almost year long search for a GT2, I spoke to many owners, performance shop guys, and dealers. I learned that GT2's, like Ferrari's and Lambos, are "low milage vehicles". I was told that of all the 996 2's in the world, (95% made in 2002-2003), no one has ever heard of a GT2 hitting, for example, 80K miles.

I was given the advice that when BUYING a GT2, triple the milage. 24K miles is the equivalent, as far as relative value against other GT2's, as 72K miles in a regular car. This is a rule which I was told exists because most other GT2's in the US all probably have less than 24K miles. So when you are buying a GT2 with 24k miles, it is actually a high milage car-compared to others just like it.

That was exactly what I was thinking. Of course, if you're buying it to actually drive, then it might not make much difference in the end if the car has 50k miles or 66k miles. Or at least that will be my justification . . .

I'm getting away from the garage queen. Like the really hot but really dumb girl you dated in college, she was fun to take to parties but the fun wears off. (of course, the memories aren't so bad)
Life is too short

I agree with you guys. I plan to drive mine and not worry about milage because I bought it to enjoy, not to use as some sort of investment fantasy. But it is true, most GT2s have been garage queens. Maybe as they get older and are sold to guys like us, they will be driven the way they were meant to be driven.

Too bad most of us live too far away from each other, because we could have a hell of a drive!

I'd have to think about buying that car if I were looking. 65K? If it has a clean history it's a total steal.

Mileage might be "relatively" high compared to other 2's, but if we're talking $20000 less for 15000 miles too many that's a good deal.

24000 miles on any Porsche is nothing.

If 24k is considered high, 30k is wayyyy too high!! Sell me your car for 70k (since it's RUF. Otherwise, I'd offer 60).
