Default Black Fikse Profil 13s on!

Picked up a used set from a firend and had Fikse refinish them...

All black on Lapis... would do the RS wing, but $4000 ain't in the budget this member of the "new daddy club"

I did not weigh them, but they are definitely lighter than stock.

I think they look great and thanks to Will Anthis of Fikse for great service.

Why did you have Fikse refinish them instead of a local wheel repair/painter, etc, type of service?

Fikse refinish -- they are black anodized.
I am not sure local wheel refinishers can anodize... which I wanted.
You may have noticed that some of the older black fikses turn purple with age... so fikse has a new anodizer that claims full UV protection -- no "purpling"... Will at Fikse made the choice easy (thaks Will) and I am pleased with the results.

Also part of the refinishing included all new hardware and full inspection etc.

The fact that they are local was a big help as well.

In their previous life somone had cleaned the wheels with wheel cleaner while they were hot, so they had the double whammy of slightly turning purple and had been stained by wheel cleaner.

Now a question for the more knowledgeable -- anyone convert their hubs to a stud kit?

Will let you know... but just in case you were not aware, Fikse has switched anodizers and the new anodizer claims that due to some UV protectant, the "purpling" is a thing of the past.

I was under the impression that the UV was to blame for the "purpuling" not heat... but that is simply what I was told... we will see.

Just done this week. Make sure you get the PROPER length studs. I really wanted to go with the "bullet" nose stud but the shank (non-threaded) portion was 29mm and the Fikse was a mm or two on the "thin" side to work. Instead went with the BBS studs that thread all the way down.

I think 19s would "look" better but the 18s will "go" better

They fixed the purple issue. When I got mine in 2005 they told me if the new ones turn purple they would take care of it no charge.
