Go with Backyard Buddy. It is the best 4 post lift available. I did over a year's research and talked with several people who own and work on these lifts. I have now had mine since the past summer and it is built like a M1 tank.

I installed a Direct Lift Pro Park.

I looked at several makes (even the Bend Pack & Rotary Lift which are said to be the best) and this unit worked out to be the perfect at home version.

Correctly priced, loaded with options, nice quality unit.

question for all the 4 post lift users. What is the most cost effective and yet effecient way of lifting the car up while on the lift for wheel/brake/suspension work... Personally not liking the thought of using 4 bottle jacks and the sliding jacks seem to cost about 900 to do the front and another 900 to do the rear. Am I missing something or are there other options here.

Very interested Lift shopper... garage will be getting overhauled this winter and the lift will be the last item in if all goes well by the late spring.

Go with a two post if suspension work is your main thing. 95% of my 4 post use is for storage only.

I purchased a Rotary lift 3 yrs. ago, followed by a 2nd one a year later for my home garage. Very pleased with both. Rotary has a long history in making commercial lifts. Their lifts are more expensive than what you'll find on eBay, but probably better quality. They will also provide you with a contact for a local installer.

2-post vs. 4-post. Each has its advantages. 4-post does not have to be bolted to the floor, which allows for more flexibility in placement (casters). 2-post obviously better for doing brake work. 4-post gives you the ability to do your own alignments.

I have a Backyard Buddy as well. Whatever you do, stick with American-made (and American steel). The Chinese-made have safety issues. I also recommend a side-mount garage door opener for the hi-lift mounting (see upper middle of photo).
