if someone is SERIOUSLY interested in tracking these, you may want to PM a few of us who has some serious track miles on them. it's not perfect, some good some bad. i think most ppl only hear about the good part.
i no longer have them so i am not trying to sell to anyone.

Lotus is fun but in my real world of having to balance work, family and time at the track I could not go any more than I do now. I have tracked the Lotus and was thinking about an Exige but I can not part from a GT3. The Lotus is close but not a GT3. Now an Exige S vs a C2 that would be different. If you have the $$ you will not be sorry you have a GT3. Get what you want

I'm not convinced that it's MUCH cheaper. Many seem to think that the M96 parts will fail more frequently than the GT3 parts when subjected to heavy track use. If the GT3 parts cost twice as much and last twice as long, I wouldn't say the M96 parts are cheaper.

I think it also depends on how hard you're driving, what you're driving for, and how much you're comfortable with balling up. The first two are primary cars. The race Boxster would be a 2nd car and probably to-hell-with looks, rock chips, etc.

Nupe, what parts have you broken? I've got 7000+ track and racing miles with only a few minor failures. The 1/2 syncro (problem point in both M96 and GT3). Clutch (lasted 6000 miles, about what a GT3 cup does), a broken A-Arm (same part in both cars) , busted a few sway bar links (GT3 part) and broke a shifter (same part in both cars). I would recommend a few changes for anyone tracking the car... add the center radiator and add the X51 or BK oil pan. Outside of that, the M96 engine has proven very reliable. I've seen as many GT3's "pop" their engine as M96's.

Hi There,
I tracked my 40th for 2 seasons and just made the move to a GT3 (996).
I had done some suspension work (X-74 and GT3 bars), but it wasn't at all the same.
If you haven't driven a GT3 yet (and especially on the track), I would suggest doing just that. For me, it was an easy choice.
Cheers,
Bryan

I voted for GT3 and 10 weekends. I find that much more than that many weekends is too much work and stops being as much fun. If I didn't need to work I'd go more but otherwise there are too many things in life that are almost as nice as being on the track. So I choose to enjoy the time that I get the best I can. GT3 is the best way I know how to have fun a the track without too much work. All other options are much more involved.
