Is Dell fast enough to really test out the Nittos?
I will look out for him next weekend at VIR and find out. BTW we're running them on our 951 and since my son usually runs RA1s or Yoks, it should be interesting to see how he likes them.

Chris, you're lucky I don't like the cold or I'd head up there, take your 997S away and make you drive a Ford Focus!
As for the Nitto's........
As you know I recently built my new home and the development isn't completed yet and there is still construction BS all over the place. So.....I am VERY VERY VERY careful which way I head out of the 'hood as to avoid the items that have already taken 7, yes you heard right, 7 tires in 6 months.
I picked up the car from Synergy the weekened before the event and then parked the trailer on the side of my house (corner lot). Later in the week I made sure to pull the car out in bring into the garage so I could get the pads checked out and one last pass over the car myself (kinda OCD on the tech but hey safety first). I get the car up and am getting ready to remove all 4 corners and decide to start in the right rear. I pull it off first, **you see where this is going** and check the pads and then do my routine rolling of the tire slowly scrutinizing the entire diameter for imperfections, etc.. So, what in the @#&*^$! do I find??? That's right, you guessed it, a F'IN NAIL!!!!
The car was on the street for a grand total of 50 feet! Out of the trailer down the side of my house to the front and then up the driveway. Are you f'in kidding me? A nail in only 50 feet??? I was so upset I got nausea and a bit light headed
I ran down to Discount Tire and showed them the tire and they checked EVERYWHERE for a tire and the closest one was in California and couldn't be FedEx in by Friday afternoon. By the way this all happened on a Thurday late afternoon. Good news though is the replacement tire is going to be free b/c they are going to prorate the tire with the nail and since it is NEW the replacment tire will be essentially free. However, this didn't help for my event this past weekend.
So on the PS2 went and that is that. Still had a FANTASTIC time at CMP but really wanted to play with the Nitto's before Larry's boys run circles around me next week at VIR
I'll have them for VIR but that will be my first crack at them. Finally at that point I will be able to report on them.
Besides, if I ran Nitto's then RJ would have been left in my dust as he was toasting his PS2's that were cooked by the end of the weekend. How much was that new set RJ???

That's too bad Dell. I was looking forward to hearing your impressions.

You haven't complained to the builder(s) about the trades guys? They should be sweeping the roads with magnets if you have picked up 7 nails in a few months. I'm sure you aren't the only one.

Yup, but that got nowhere. I even talked to my sales agent about it and she said "tell me about it!, I have replaced 2 sets myself" to which I followed up asking her if the builder reimburses her for the cost and she laughed and said not a chance. Needless to say I am not very impressed with the subs out here. At least all my tires are now on road hazzard so it isn't to pricey when I replace them. But when each of the tires went for the first time I didn't have a road hazzard since they were new tires on a new car (the GT3 and Caynnene).

Dell, it it's not in the sidewall, why not just patch it until the new one comes in?

Snailing around town is one thing but bustin' a move on the circuit is another.

I wouldn't risk a blowout.
Replacing the tire is cheap compared to the damage to life and car a blowout could cause.
