Dell,
I'd guess that a well driven GT3 on R-Comps (Hoosier or MPSC) would be in the 2:08 range. If I recall, Larry ran a 2:06 on Hoosiers once. The poor maligned standard 996s that ran in GrandAm Cup were able to run 2:09s but it's unfair to compare a street car to a race car really. Nonetheless, I'd think 2:12s would be a walk in the park for a GT3 on good rubber. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

I can defintely say that 2:12 is NOT a walk in the park. My 2:20-2:21 times were a walk in the park. I had to earn the 2:15 this past weekend. Now that I know where to improve, I have no doubt I can do that 2:12 with a bit more seat time.

just a quick observation on using the NT01's - if your car works the outside edges at all due to agressive driving, a street alignment, or just old fashioned inferior suspension geometry (my mustang), you may notice some funky wear patterns developing. I have not had this problem with RA1's, Sport Cups, Avon slicks, or any other tire for that matter. The large shoulder tread blocks of the unshaved NT01's, however, corded the shoulders in a strange stripe like manner that followed the basic shape of the tread pattern. Good tires, but there was more rubber on the tire that I didn't get to use. Got one good weekend out of a set of 285/30/18's. I think the michelin is a superior tire all around, however.

Nope, no avatar woman. Parts manager yes. Amongst other stops we dropped in to see our rep at Pace American in Middlebury. Did the plant tour for my fifth time and looked around at all kinds of interesting trailers including a really interesting 50' gooseneck. It would fit 2 cars easy.

In that case how much further back do you speculate the gap is b/t the hoosiers and the NT01's??? 4 seconds? 3 seonds? 2 seconds? equal? Just trying to get a feel from somebody whom has experience on MANY tires.
TIA!
