Default How to mount my 6-point harness?

Hey guys,

I have just bougt me some GA 6-point harnesses for my car? I found a pic of a black GT3 with some red ones mounted, hard to say exactly how it is mounted in that pic though

Security is important, so I reach out to you

Pics would be nice as well

TIA!

do a site search. There are some pic on the gallery. Do you have GT3 euro seats? roll bar?

You will also need a sub strap bar. It is an easy job but important to do it right.

the usual way to mount them is to use roll bar for shoulder harness, GT3 seats have tabs on the side for lap harness, and you can get a cross bar under the seat for the crotch belt.

they absolute correct way to do it is to have the eye bolts go through the tub and put a large thick backing plate on the otherside of the tub, but that means putting holes through the chassis.

It also depends what your harness looks like. Some have clips, while others are designed to be bolted in.

These guys likely have the stuff you need (search rennlist threads to see what others have done):

__________
most schroth comes with clips. you clip that onto the eyebolt. you should also put a cotter pin the prevent the clip from opening up during mishaps.

The best guide that I have found is the Schroth manual. It's great even if you are using different belts. You can find it HERE.

I use GT3 seats, DAS Sport rollbar and Schroth 6-point, Hybrid II and Hybrid II HANS belts. The substraps mount well with the Brey Krause bar for the GT3 seats.

Slowpoke,

If you are not sure, let a pro do it! Your life could be depending on the installation.

If you want to mount a fire extinguisher, the Brey Krause sub strap bar has provisions for a mount that brings it out in front of the seat.

Use Brey Krause products for the installation.

ditto. Hope your using fixed back seats....? GT3 or other...
I followed the Schroth instructions for my 6 pt. If your reasonably mechanically inclined, it's not too difficult.

Why not just use the Porsche OEM mounts? (bar + spacer)

I'm fitting this setup with the Scroth harness today. Does anyone know the correct torque for the lap belt mounts, and whether they should be threadlocked? (and if so which threadlock?)

I know the seat mount bolts (E12 torx) are 65nm torque and no threadlock.
