______________
i hope you aren't saying that you are using rs19 on pccb rotors. i think you will destroy the rotors very quickly.

i woudn't use rs19 unless you have steel rotors.

RS19 is a track pad. when cold, it doesn't stop as well as oem pads. most ppl who run rs19's do tons of track events and changes pad quite frequently, so we don't use the pad wear sensors. you just peak in through the wheel to see if you got enough pads left.

Most people just tie the sensors out of the way.

just close the circuit. You will replace the pads way before the sensor comes on.

"2 years here with same set of RS19"
How do you do this? I am guessing I get about 10 track days out of a set of front RS19s and about double that for the rear.

My RS19 have 18 track days on them, 7 of them on rear PCCB, 4 of them on front PCCB.

Rotors are in great conditions. I have 18,000 miles on the same set of RS19. The rear pads are as thick as my stock pads (Pagid Porsche OEM Sport Black Pad), the front ones look like 70% life left and they have smalls cracks. The front pads are really noisy. I just reinstalled my stock pads 3 weeks ago for the occasional winter driving (I can't stand the noise on the front pads).

Due to the small cracks (normal) on the front RS19, I will be using the front steel rotors with those same pads for the next track season.

My local tracks: LRP, WGI, Pocono. WGI is the one harder on the brakes, but I have been there for just 3 days last year on this car.

I've seen guys eating a set of brand new pagid orange in 2 days, and other guys on the same pads running 8 track days on Orange.

By the way, the RS19 is easy on the rotors.

I looked at the RS-29 and noticed that they are much thinner than the RS-19. That's why I didn't buy them. In other words there is less friction material on the 29 than on the 19. I replace my pads at 50 percent wear to reduce cracking on the surface of the rotor. The idea of using a thinner pad didn't seem to be a good idea.

regards,

RS29 is an endurance pad too I'm told and never heard any complaints about short life.

Can see where you are coming from if trying to protect a PCCB though

Bob, when I read your note about the thinner RS-29, somthing didn't seem quite right so I querried Pagid on the matter...here's what they say:

By mistake and only for a (short) while the factory in Germany made 2707RS29 with anti noise shims and consequently a little thinner.

Plus Porsche has changed the drawing for the 2707. It used to be in the beginning 16.5mm and is now 18mm.

We make also some special RS19 and RS29 pads in 20mm for the 24h race in Daytona.
