Why is everybody selling their GT3's
What gives? On to bigger and better? Waiting for the new 997 GT3??? I am curious....why would you sell one of the best sport cars in the world?
I saw one medical reason, but how about the rest of you?

My $.02.
Why am I selling = 997GT3.
Why sell 996 now? With GT3's selling for as low as $83,000(see classifieds), they could be down into the low-seventies, or lower when the 997 GT3 makes its appearance. A potential $30k+ hit includes an extra bump which I had not budgeted when I contemplated replacing my 996 with the 997GT3.
I don't like it but in my case, it is my only option if I want a 997GT3.

Remember, the boys in the US with GT3 on the tracks are perhaps 10% of the total GT3 owners.
I also think that the majority of 996 GT3 owners are anticipating "what if's" on the 997 GT3. IMO, the 997 GT3 is going to be even better car for the majority.
If you ask me, the look of 997 is so awesome! The car just looks THAT much better. I always get the feeling whenever I see a 997, "Dayyyyyum... wait... what has changed?"
997 look so damn good that I don't remember what 996 look like.
NOW that's a design achievement!

What do you know as a matter of fact about a 997 GT3? Apart from the look, what is that (1) thing you feel that you gotta have?

Mous3,
I think many people incl. non 996 & 996 owners would disagree with you, the 997 is a clear step backward design wise but this has been discussed to boredom so let's not go there again!
Let's move on.

I count only 6 for sale in classifieds in rennlist.
Out 934 in US, that is really not a lot.
Not sure I will move to 997GT3 - after putting about 40 hours at the track - this thing is pretty and very pretty quick - I do not think you need to run MPSC if you can drive like a bandit.
For over all, I will keep my $ for a second p-car - a cayman Club Sport.
The grunt of the GT3 is amazing since my other car is a Viper - (and the GT3 is just that good that the hp difference is not that noticeable).
The 996 GT3 is Bloody amazing. I'll wait to see how bloody bloody good the 997GT3 is (hardware-reliablity and performance) before I get cranked up - I have not seen enough to make a decision.
Knowing that Porsche will /try to/ outdo the 996GT3, I am betting that it will be better in some respects - but, it will have to be better in all respects (in a balanced way) for me to move.

Well, just go back to 2004/2004 when the Mk.II was released and the actual performance leap over the Mk.I was really negligible and many of us that spend a lot of time on the track actually prefer the Mk.I over the Mk.II so I wouldn't be too worried. OK, the 997 is a new car but I honestly do not feel it deserves to be called a new model and doubt the performance will be embarrassing for the 996 Mk. I and II GT3.
