Mark, the $4,184 price is still less than half the price of a new one but still too expensive considering how long they last - or don't last.

Hey Mark, why bother? Unless you sell it to some weenie who wants it perfectly stock, and that would be hard to do seeing as how yours has a full roll cage, anyone who knows about these cars will want the steel brakes.

PCCB Brake Kit (GT2) -- Part # 000 044 600 61 -- $10,500.00USD

The 15% handling charge is already factored into the price, I didn't call just found the offer online.

Is that for just one rotor? "PCCB Brake Kit" sounds like more than just one rotor.

Sounds like a kit price. Makes you wonder why you would want to purchase just the rotors and not a whole kit.

Granted, this kit is for the C4s and TT.

Bob,

To change to the steele rotors?

Can i just install a steele gt3 rotor on the front with the stock yellow caliper?

For the rear i need to remove the stock caliper and replace it with a caliper designed for a smaller steel rotor.

Is there a caliper for the rear that will except the steel rotor, with the caliper in yellow? or will i have a yellow front caliper and a red one on the rear?

Is there a aftermarket 2 peace rotor that will bolt on the front and the rear with no caliper change, i have had excellent results with the alcon and brembo rotors in the past and would like nothing more than installing them.

1 - Yes, the front steel rotor works with the PCCB Yellow Caliper and even uses the same pads.

2 - The rear caliper for steel is different and yes, it is red. It's made to fit the 330 mm rear rotors which are 20 mm smaller than the PCCB rotors. I'm painting mine yellow before install. This is a trivial thing to do.

3 - I have seen a post on this board describing a Brembo GT kit which may meet your needs. I am using the Porsche kit because I want to be able to buy rotors from any dealer in a pinch. By the way, the regular GT3 rotors may be Brembos - Viken will know, (he knows *everything*).

Best,

Bob,

Thanks,

I went to the dealer today, and i guess it sunk in, when looking at his screen,
$10k plus garage discount,
$12k list for one pccb rotor x 4 = crazy money!

The price for a stock rotor is pretty good, i brought home the part numbers and list price for the rotors and rear calipers--$704.50 per caliper.
GT3 front rotor 996-351-410-91-- list $310.61,
GT2 front rotor 996-351-410-9h-- $1271.17,

That is a large difference!

How are you going to paint the rear rotors, i know it's not a big deal, but why not have them the same.

I understand that you can also buy rotors for the GT3 Cup cars thru Porsche Racing at $150 each.
I was told they are the same size, but I don't know that for fact.

Z06 - Not sure I understand the post - GT3 front rotor $310, Gt2 front rotor 1,271??? Sounds like the list price for a GT3 front rotor ($1271) and rear rotor $310 in C$. Am I right?

Go to any place that sells car parts, import "tuners" and the like and buy a can of caliper paint. Spray on after masking off the parts that should not be painted. Install. That's all there is to it. Changing pads is harder <grin>. The kit to change from PCCB to GT3 cast iron is about $6K Canadian including new pads.

Mac - I was told fronts were 280 - 150 sounds alot better! Z06 is quoting Canadian dollars by the way.

Regards,

Bob,

Rear gt3 steel rotor 996-352-405-00 $251.

these are the prices the dealer gave me,

Is there more than changing the rear calipers, front and rear rotors and pads

Rear calipers are $704. each,
rear rotors $251. each,
front rotors are $310 each, most likely he made a mistake $1271 each sounds more like it, these are all list price CA $$

Nope that's the whole deal. I wish I could find 350 mm rear rotors in cast iron so that I didn't have to change the rear calipers but I haven't located any.
