I will explore the a sub option later but Del Rey Customs in SoCal makes a kick panel box to fit a JL 8"W3.

Man, I'm so jealous. You buy a higher mileage example with an accident and go about making it measurably better. I pay a premium for low mileage and I just keep throwing money to keep it together. Argh, lesson learned...just goes to show you that buying a driver is the right way to go.

Is that the 5-channel Alpine? That's the same (or similar) amp I ran in my 986 for a while. I went through about 20 different setups before accepting that it will never sound AMAZING - so good is good enough.

Here was one of many; I think at this point I was using both the MOST amp and the Alpine; I even evaluated where there was enough firewall to port a decently-sized tube between the cabin and the frunk...but I gave up before I took the Sawzall to the Boxster.

I am so happy to be out from under MOST with the 996.

don't be... I have done a lot of maintenance work too. Preventative: IMS, AOS, RMS, clutch. Corrections: coolant tank, evap sensor, cab hydraulic fluid top up, front rotors and pads, front and rear drop links, motor mounts, transmission fluid change, refinish leather, various odds and ends like fuel door clip etc.

Yes it is the 5 channel. It's only acceptable in a cab and never good. I have a big home stero setup and the 996 will never compare.
