Default Wheel Paralysis - Help me decide

When I bought my C4S it came with Victor Innsbrucks that I thought were just fine. Then one day I pulled the rears off to do an annual inspection of them, and noticed that they are 8x10s with 55mm offset.

Now all I can think about is how wrong they are.

I note the Innsbruck is discontinued, but some places still have the 11x18 36mm offset in stock. I also have a set of stock Turbo Twists (in the proper width and offsets) that I picked up on the cheap. They need to be re-finished, and that will run me $500.00. The good news is that if I go that route, I can have them refinished in any colour I want.

So this is what I have:

Tell me what to do?

1. Get a set of the rear Innsbrucks

2. Refinish the stock wheels in [insert your colour here]

For giggles, here is the car with the turbo twists:

I wonder what the wheel style that's on the 911R would look like. I love those wheels

Well, they don't make those in 18s.

If I have to choose between those two options I go with #1, get a set of the properly sized rears and sell the wrong ones.

Are spacers legal for state/province inspection where you are?

IIRC Porsche Option XKN was 5mm front and 17mm rear spacer kit.

My C4S can with techno-twist rims (55 offset) but not the spacer option. I picked up a set and put them on when I flipped to my Kinesis K19's offset unknown but they were off a 993.

Thanks for the ideas. I think I have narrowed it down to either:

1. Stock colour
2. Arctic Silver (to match the car)
3. Gunmetal

For cars as old as ours, I think stock color makes a statement. It says that the car is as good as new, well cared for, and respected in it's original, classic form. Anything not stock says it has been messed with, and may be messed up. Okay, that's my opinion, so mod jocks don't flame me.

That's an interesting opinion. But ...

1. Are these cars THAT old?

2. Isn't every Porsche unique?

3. Is a water cooled 911 that collectible?

4. Who beyond us would notice?

5. Does anyone beyond us matter? (Humor here, please).

I think the Turbo wheels look great. On the other hand, have you considered the GT3 wheels?

You can't even see the black wheels. Go silver or grey. Look at the BBS CHR wheels. They would look good on your car. The Turbo twist are more original, but that car and color will look good with many different wheels. Try the Tire Rack configurator, enter your car and color, and play around with all the wheels and colors that fit your car. Good luck, I went throughthe same exercise with my '03 C4S, Alpine Silver.

I went with Titanium II LD2-W as the wheels match the side markers and tail lights now.

Our cars are individually different as we owners.
My car came with the Lightweight Carrera 5 wheels, which many people like. I just wasn't one of them.
I searched for a long time, and the websites that have the configuration operation as mentioned is a great tool.
I had just about settled on Techart, then I saw the Cargraphic 3 piece wheels with perfect offset 9" in front 11" in rear 18s.
They are not everybody's choice, but I like them.
BTW, ebay has some Techart wheels really cheap if you want to check.
