There's nothing funny about a blown engine on a car you love and treasure. I guess you just have to laugh it off and move on.

I have a new idea for a business plan.

Custom keep sake IMS display boxes.

Jake can sign each one, for a small fee of course.

Each one scribed;

Replaced a perfectly good part but I sleep much better now

or

Lost my A__ on a 996 purchase. One of many known failures sits in this box. I am stupid!

or,

That goes along with all that image crap... I never sign anything. Its not what we are about here.

I have made IMS lamps, and lots of other cool things before... I've even sent someone back the chips from the milling machine where their scored cylinders were the culprit... I put those in an Urn. People loved it. I've also issued engines Death Certificates..

Thats back before we were insanely busy, and before people had such a hard on for the world. Today a laugh is considered politically incorrect.

Jake is a Marine. Marines don't joke.

If you ever laughed at something a Marine said, you wouldn't be here to tell the tale.

This is true, but you are now a marked man for stating this publicly.

Oh, crap. I just confirmed it. Publicly.

Since I'm now doomed, I can admit that I laughed when Jake said he ripped the phone off the wall...only because I have done stupid crap like that over the years. Marine or not, things you do while enraged are terrifying to the people around you at the time; subsequently, they all think a little bit less of you. Now when I start to red out or my ears start ringing, I turn around and leave...

Well, that and the mild case of "I'm fatter and older and would probably get my a$$ kicked if I tried to pull that crap now" Syndrome I acquired a few years ago...

So true. Red Cross came to my door at 9PM asking for donations. I have a sign that says no Solicitors.

One lady and some guy in a baklava (it was winter, about -30 with windchill so it isnt uncommon for this to happen here) and my middle and oldest child were sleeping and the baby was almost asleep in my arms. i was telling her that this is really not a good time and to please leave....yet she kept going with her speech putting her foot in the door well. I couldn't believe it.

Well....the dog eventually realized what was going on at the front door, came and had a look, and started howling at the guy with the baklava on. Pretty sure he pissed his pants once he saw an 80 pound staff come at him. Now my kids are up, the baby is crying and I lose my **** on these people at the door. Absolutely lose it.

Turn around and i could see the fear in my kids eyes. man, I felt horrible.

Thank you for the perspective. I still think its funny.

I have a few friends in the Marines (actual one just got out) and my sister was a sergeant in the Air Force.

They all have a great sense of humor until its time not to! And, yes you know when its time.

Ooh rah
