How would I know I have the I450 Ceramic brake discs option?
Developed a knock when decel or accel, and now my break pad light came on, so I'm pretty sure that is where the noise is coming from.
My parts guy wants me to figure out if I have this option. I450 ceramic brake discs.

The easiest way to identify is if you have yellow calipers. Ceramic discs also look a lot different compared to steel rotors. If you have the yellow calipers, make sure you have a ceramic disc.
Another way to check is the option sticker under the hood.

Whack them with a steel hammer. If the rotor chips or shatters, it was ceramic.
Yup. The 996 brake warning "system" is rudimentary and sacrificial - at least one sensor has to be replaced to make the light go off. After spending some time looking over a Tesla and seeing how every single light bulb on that car can be independently controlled by the BCM (or whatever they call the body computer on a Tesla), it's actually refreshing to see a solid-state, low-tech, perfectly serviceable solution still doing its thing. Except that I hate them and don't use them. But otherwise, they're pretty sweet.

Powerstop ceramic pads are a great buy
I use than as my DD pads and most AX that I do
Great stopping power and low low dust around $50 an axle online
You can also usually find Meyle rotors on ebay for around $80 a PAIR!
I have been tracking them for almost 2 years now with zero issues

I'd go for an oem rotor , Sebro or Zimmerman , 105 and 120 at pelican . http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...pg4.htm#item17
I used cool carbon pads , they are a great fast road pad with less dust than oem

I agree with the OEM rotors. As for the cool carbon pads, I threw mine away. They were awesome at first, but once they were properly bedded and started to wear, they started SCREECHING when cold.
Didn't bother me at all - in fact, I didn't really notice until Mrs. asked when I was going to fix the brakes. Loud.
