Just spoke with my mechanic. It doesn't look good. Sounds like its actually the transmission this time. I can't afford to put another transmission in this car. Anybody have any clue what kind of money I could get for the car as is with broken transmission?

Same symptoms and out of nowhere again? Makes no sense man. You went down the "transmission is destroyed" road TWICE already.

Might be better off parting it out. Rollers I've seen are 5-7K

I agree. Regardless of if the current transmission is dead or not, this is not a transmission issue. Something else is up with the car that is causing it to eat trannies.

I get that he's done though.

As far as value, it's usually a dead motor that we talk about as a roller, but a roller is a roller I guess. Especially when you have this history without a clear reason as to the cause. Big gamble for someone to pick up, slap a new transmission in, only to have it blow again.

That's what I was thinking. The majority of times a roller is a roller due to a bad motor, not a bad tranny. How many miles are on the car?

60,000 on the car, less on the engine.

Correct me if I'm wrong on history here, but "Dennis the Menace" first destroyed the original transmission (that was probably still in good working condition) and now, the second one that he installed is toast???

What are the chances?

I think I remember you saying he "lawyered up" when you sent him a letter requesting a full refund for services. I probably recommend doing the same.

A roller IS NOT a roller. One with a good engine is worth a lot more than one with a broken one. Take the cost of a good replacement transmission and replacement labour, deduct that from the value of the car and a few more $K to make it worth while and that's what your car is worth.
