New 996! Well, to us... and our first!
Been a member on the forums for a while now, but new/been lurking in the 996 area for a while as we were considering upgrading over our Boxster. And what a great time to get into a 996!
I found this one at a local used car lot (where I never expected to see one) and price and condition met in the middle just about right with a decent service history.
2004 Carrera 2. Lapis blue, with savannah beige interior. 6-speed.
It did have a from-day-one problem list, including a bad idler bearing, a frozen alternator clutch, (which came after about a week of ownership) and a failing DMF. I am currently in the process of a DIY clutch and DMF replacement.
As for optional equipment, It has a clearbra on the front, An in-mirror Valentine one, Radar jammers and Lojack. Dealership installed window tint, apparently according to the sales manager that is "default on all leather cars" Other than that it's all pretty much factory.
But for all the talking, here's the picture rewards...
Planned things so far include a gundo exhaust hack during the clutch job, the old Boxster had a chinese glass pack and my 951 has a 3" fabspeed system so the other half has demanded a bit more volume from the 996 but nowhere near the reverb of the chinese exhaust from the boxster. that was a bit too much. Also planning a taillight swap to the more "997" LED look and LED side markers as well. other than that, not a lot planned. Like it as it stands really.
It has, however made me want to spend a bit of money on the 951, namely on the shift linkage, as the 951 is an all-original linkage, the 996 makes me want to tighten it up quite a bit. Shorter throw, tighter bushings and the like.

Beautiful combo, and looks like you got the nicest (an lightest) factory wheels too!
Congrats!
