I'm probubly in, just can't plan that far ahead right now
As far as a nice inexpensive hotel, The Tuscany is a winner. All rooms are like suites and its a garden style hotel 3 story buildings with the parking lot right outside, so you can park your own car and not have to walk a mile to get to your room.
I'll be staying at the tent sites at Boulder beach campground. I'm gonna split cost with an immigrant family and save $5 nite. Being that it's June, and the campground closed their showers last year, I might be kind of 'fragrant' by Sat afternoon. Maybe someone will kick in a card key(if they stand close to me), from one of their suites on the strip. If not, one of you can grab me one of those little bars in the bath and I'll just use the lake. Vegas baby.....
This Vegas thing appears to have quickly devolved from a Porsche enthusiast event into a booze drenched, stripper chasing weekend of debauchery. It's always nice to have something to look forward to. Perhaps a practice run prior to June is in order. You know, just to make sure we get it right.
Silly me. I'm a little slow on the uptake. I also have a conveniently poor memory, which will serve me well on the follow-up interrogation when I return home.
Put me down for a tentative maybe it is potentially conceivable that I perhaps might perchance possibly attend.
The 914 group is having our annual West Coast Rally up to Mammoth Lakes June 1 through 4. That means I need to make it back from Mammoth, then prep and head out to Vegas only a few days later.
Somewhere amongst that time, I need to actually work. Unlike DT, I didn't find an ambulance to chase that had cash billowing out of the back doors.
I'll work up some T-shirt designs.
Kalash, the Karting sounds like a great idea. Prolly much easier to coordinate than a real track event.
Of course, we can do Exotics Racing, but I've already done that there. Gets a bit spendy, and not really a great group activity. Plenty of fun, though.
.
As to hotel... definitely not Circus Circus, even though plenty of clowns will be in attendance. Parking reeks at lots of the Strip hotels, but I do like the Strip. As mentioned above, North Las Vegas has really stepped up the game. I'd vote for something up there by Fremont Street. Golden Nugget is a good choice. Blocks and blocks of sidewalk boozatoriums like this:
Golden Goose may work its way into the itinerary, and no need to drive back to a hotel... just stagger away in the approximate general direction.
