Tomorrow there is a Porsche sponsored event at the Grove in Aneheim to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the 911 and the rerelease of LeMans on DVD...A model will be on display

Default Anniversary car

It is a very reasonable deal you would save yourself about $2000 if you bought it as opposed to buying a normal 996 c2 and upgrading it ...and it still would not have the limited slip diff and the direct throttle linkage which will make the car so much better to drive....oh also the modified turbo front end and GT3 side skirts are also included in the price.

I'll post some pics when mine arrives at end of Nov...basically if you want a c2 with awsome handling, looks and performance this is the baby.

I thought the limited run was for beginning February builds. Your car is coming next month? When did you order?

Also, according to some Excellent review it is more like a $10K diference with all options added in (including some not available on the sotck 996)

40th Ann. cars are at the port and should be in dealers in a few weeks. I was told this by dealership GM yesterday.

The first models are not at dealers yet, but shortly. If you ordered a 996 with all the equipment the 40th car has, it would cost you an extra 10k. There are very few options for the 40th car, Bose, PCM, and standard power seats are the options basically. There has been good demand for the car, but there are some still available.

Somehow it seems Porsche worked out a way to have "direct throttle linkage" with PSM. At least that is what the first press release from PAG stated when describing the 40th special.
