Default Filling convertible hydraulic fluid

Hi my top has been opening and closing poorly lately so based on reading went to check and add fluid. When I opened the back I did not see what I expected. My car is a 2004 911 cab. I expected to see a Vertical aligned pump (brass color). What I see is a horizontal. Was this modified? If not do I just add fluid through the nipple in the clear plastic side?

Yes that is what I thought as well. The issue is mine does not look like that. That piece with the green arrow is not there. Instead a part that looks like the second picture I sent is.

Aren't the two images pretty much the same?

If you zoom into the hole, this is what you'll see...

I think you are completely missing it. I see the part with the green arrow in your picture, just to the right of the piece you are showing in the stock photo.

I should not have included that first picture. I was trying to say this is what I expected to see but it was not there. I then included the stock picture to illustrate what I was seeing. I had closed the top back up. I will go take an actual picture. Sorry for the confusion and I do appreciate the help. Will take about 30 minutes.

Now it makes sense Since you see a plastic reservoir with fluid inside, then that NIPPLE is most likely the fill hole. Best of luck

have not tackled this job myself yet but most DIYs I have seen suggest using a plastic syringe

Hmm... I've never seen that design. Perhaps they changed the pump design for 2004, or maybe you have a retrofit repair???

Cannot seem to make out where the NIPPLE is or how it looks like on your PUMP. Possible to post a picture of THE NIPPLE? ....oh dear, keeping fingers crossed this stays on topic
