The flavor of 911 is what sells the car... you can get lots of calories in a big mac meal deal for a lot less $$ than a steak dinner at a high end restaurant - but which tastes better

Cut aluminum plates to cover all of the holes created from stripping the interior. I'm no machinist but hopefully these will work. There are four total openings that needed covering.

Immobilizer moved up under the dash, where Porsche should have located it in the first place. Ended up only having to extend 1 wire and move the ground to a different spot. I used the orange cable out of some cat5 just to keep the color consistent on the wire I extended.

Especially the way you drive it!

Mainly because that was what was recommended to me. And to keep the water out. Which his a little humorous since I have no side windows.
Truthfully, I'm too nervous to be excited right now. I have changed SO much that one little mistake or loose nut can ruin the whole thing. I'm just working through my list, triple checking my work, redoing it where required, making good notes on potential issues along the way, and then final step will be to torque and paint every bolt.
Once it's actually finished and I get a session or two on it without any major issues, then I think I'll relax enough to be all smiles.

Got the rear bumper cut cut for the tow hook and attached. Originally was going to use aero catch latches for the engine cover but have abandoned that idea. Not ecstatic about using the emergency release cable and having it flap around back there but it will have to do for now. Used the jacket from some #10 thhn and cut up a butt connector to make the loop.

I'm not sure about that. Driver for driver and both cars on the same tire compound I think a 996gt3 should be faster. Slap the same cup wing on I'll bet my left arm it's faster. But good luck finding a gt3 for 50k anymore. It saddens me to think you could buy one for 40k all day just a few years ago.

Using posi-taps to tap into to the oil temp and throttle position sensors off of the DME. The post taps are kind of expensive but perfect for this kind of connection where you really don't want to screw it up. To trace them out, i had to take apart the DME connector which looked a lot more menacing than it really was. Just 1 screw and the carefully pry it out of the bottom of the housing.

Finally got got the data and video systems done. They took forever (30+ hours). Lots of decisions, troubleshooting, fabricating (which I suck at) and dressing in. One issue included soldering the binder connectors for connecting the AIM analog inputs to the DME on the wrong pins. I quadruple checked the diagram but apparently was misreading it. Funny things happen you insert 5VDC onto DME connections. Luckily no damage was done. I also managed to bend a pin on one the cameras s video type (I think it's a proprietary version) connections and thought I was screwed. Surprisingly though is was able to bend it back excruciatingly slowly without it breaking.
I got the shocks reinstalled and alignment done yesterday. All that's left is fire suppression, seats/harnesses and rear view mirror. I did not want to be finishing up on the very last day but at least the end is in sight.

Decided to recharge the fire system just in case 10 years is too old. Here's pulling the lever on the bottle

Empty bottle and ruptured disc. One of the PO's failed to mention they had popped the system at some point.
