got to figure the suspension, wheels/tires and rear wing/aero kit would fetch close to $8k on their own. even as a roller i'd think this baby could worth $12-$13K to right buyer - if its got AutoPrem mats thats another $500
...that inappropriate color red wing could always be painted

First off yes it's nice to see a nicely kept high mileage car showing once again these cars can be driven. On the other hand $18,500 would be more in line IMO with an odometer reading just over 100k miles.

Me thinks we should all anticipate upward trending on the pricing as the 996 begins to earn its place back from all the rumored issues as a reliable and a reasonably obtainable (for now) Porsche.

Well if you want to go that route ....Paint the whole car to silver add some boxster red interior and we may just have a winner and also a $30k car with a lot of miles

Let me get my car first and then let the prices go up the roof

I'm 5'10' and this was the 512TR verison. It had some improvements that the Testarossa did not have... looks almost the same but not (you can tell by the mirrors, the 512TR had the dual lower flag mirrors and not the single flying mirror of the Testarossa).

However, I can assure you that this is where Ferrari's are best parked... in a scrap heap.

i can see your point - i always found the porsche a much better ride. ferrari's so god damn finicky if the roads aren't perfect. ....and i much preferred the slight smell of burning oil in my 993 (at the time) much better than the ferrari smell of burning wires.

LMAO

Aside from the smell of burning wires... Ferrari maintenance is an absolute horror story whether you are drive the car or not. I wholly believe that anybody that wants a Ferrari bad enough, can own one. At the time I got this 512TR, I doled out a bit more than $60K as a second owner to purchase it, and within months easily doled out twice that to keep it on the road ($15K tune ups and crap). They are not cars for those squeamish with their finances.

Pffft, I'd take 18.5k for my "low mileage" 125k example.

Also, if you tall guys really want to contort, try on a Lotus Esprit sometime. Had to keep one of those kindergarden mats in the driver's door sill just to get properly folded up before seating entry. Fine once you're in there though..
