Default PSA: 996 Rebirth- Dr. Raby and FSI delivers!!

My 996 engine went South during track fun. After researching options and a phone conversation with Jake, I elected FSI to bring the car out of the graveyard. It has been an interesting/fun year. The car is being released as a healthy boy!

Cool! Congrats... maybe once you get it on the road and start driving maybe you can illuminate the process, timing and overall cost? Good Luck !

Glad your Porsche is resurrected and ready to enjoy again. Pics and more info when you get time.

Congrats, was this with any bolt on's or just purely internal engine work/ecu tuning?

Still a 3.6 right?

Thanks for the interest and comments!

In summary- Jake and FSI were fantastic and I feel fortunate they put their craftsmanship to work for me. I will try to post up further details.

I look forward to putting it back into its' natural habitat!!

Timing: It takes a long damn time. More than a year.

Costs: It costs a hell of a lot of money. More than most 996s are worth.

Congrats, was this with any bolt on's or just purely internal engine work/ecu tuning?
The whole Track Performer Plus combination. Internal, and external mods. Like everything we do, this combo is built by us, not bought.

Pete, This is my Generation 8, 4.0 that I was telling you about.

I'm happy every time I see one of these cars - frankly, I don't know if I have the heart to put that much money into ANY car, but I'm glad to see that other people do.

Congrats, max! Look at how high and flat that torque curve is! Enjoy the 4.0 monster and send us show track photos.

It has more in it.. This was on Break in oil, which is never good for power.

The rings are not even seated yet.

It also made this power with slicks and rear alignment settings that rob RWHP 5-8HP/ Tq generally.

The tests are also performed on 93 octane pump gas.

And the best part, we didn't even need to raise the rev limiter....

Jake and FSI built the 3.8l "performer" engine for my '02 996 Cab. One of the most noticeable changes you cannot see on a dyno graph -- which is just how smooth the motor is. The extra HP and torques are there, no doubt about it, but with zero drama.

This doesn't really tell me anything. Is there anywhere I can get more info on it?

Yep, I'll be hosting another Webinar for those interested in these engines on May 2, 2016 at 6 Pm Eastern time. Kaley tells me that we have 4 slots open during this Webinar.

No details are on my site, I can't post anything with details, else it gets stolen by copy cats.
