Since Porsche occasionally sells "turbo-look" cars, there's even a precedent for "legit" Porsches masquerading as other Porsches. My '99 C4 is GT3 enough to pass for a GT3 to people who actually know what a GT3 is, but I wouldn't badge it as one because that's f'n lame. I'm just not sure if it's more, less than, or equally f'n lame as camping someone's faux GT3 to explain to other people that it's counterfeit...

There's a guy on our street who chalks other peoples' tires and takes date-stamped photos - whenever someone has been parked for 72 hours and one minute, he calls the cops trying to get the other cars cited. The cops, who can't stand the douche, won't accept his date-stamped photos as evidence, which makes him even madder. Chalking someone else's tires and ratting them out to the fuzz is just about as lame as OP's "that's not a GT3" impromptu seminars.

That's basically what I said about the kits. I don't care if someone builds a car that looks exactly like a Turbo. They can even install the intakes in the sides fenders. The moment they slap a Turbo badge or sticker on it...

And, lol, yeah, I wouldn't advocate camping out to embarrass someone -- I don't see the point in that either.

It's a shame someone with such a great sense of humor is apparently barreling headlong into Alzheimer's...

On the plus side, "Fraunkinstein" will be new to you every time you tell it.

Today I saw a narrow body 996 with gt2 wing, bumpers, and ....badging. *gasp*

Usually the easiest way to spot a fake is by looking for god awful chrome wheels.

So, does this mean I have to get rid of the fake Rolex that I got in Malaysia for $5?
