Default H&R spring instal

Just had it done. I can not figure out why the opinions on ride quality differ so much. It seems very close to OEM to me. Drop is nice but am on my winters now so we'll see when I get the summers on in April (although it was 14 in Toronto today and had the top down! That's a first for Feb)

Alignment: camber -1 front -1.6 back. Toe 0 front, .15 in at back. From recommendations here

Cheers

I think the consensus is that the H&R is very close to OEM wh. It come to ride quality. The Eabach, however, is vastly improved.

Let me guess, you have Eibachs

I have reads most of these threads and could find very little consensus on ride quality differences between any type of spring. The vast majority seemed to make their choice based on how much the springs were going to lower their car

Looks good.

I actually just installed the Eibachs about three weeks ago after reading endless threads about them. I was on my summer tires at the time and drove up to PA to have Fabspeed install them. With the summer tires on 19's on the crappy PA roads, it was not a good ride and I was debating if I should have gotten the 19" wheels.

However, in my way back home, the exact same road felt totally different. I was surprised as I was not expecting an improvement in ride quality. The expansion joints that were threatening to knock out my fillings on the way up, were barely noticeable. In addition, I had less audible squeeks in the car due to the more compliant ride.

So, not saying I like Eibachs because I happen to have them. Got them because I had read about the improvement in ride but took it with a grain of salt. Was blown away by the improvement. Sure, it could be a little lower and I think the H&R wins in the looks deparment, but I scrape on my driveway as it is.

Hey, that's basically my alignment. How does the initial turn-in feel?

Little sharper but still tracks very straight at speed and doesn't wander. Will probably be able to feel it a bit better when the summer mpss go on in the spring

Your car looks amazing. Very sharp. I had a number of bad alignments somewhat recently and can't stand it when the car wanders and doesn't track straight. Makes my car annoying to drive.

Progressive Eibach Sport for me from 1983 URQUATTRO to 997. Bilstein P10s on 993. Eibach with OEM struts about 1 inch drop and usually less that HR.

Beautiful! I found that the ride is a bit harsher - but really not much. I'm about 3 weeks into mine and still learning the 'scraping' curve....
