When I was 19 I lived in Agoura and had a stock '84 Z28. I got pulled over by the same Malibu Sheriff, officer Boudreaux, every two weeks for months. He stopped me once to make sure my horn worked. Another time he stopped me, walked around my car, looked underneath, and said I could go-when I asked why he stopped me he said he was looking for someone in a car just like this earlier. He was parked at the four-way stop to my street and I saw him, I came to a complete stop, and he gave me a ticket for stopping with my front wheels over the limit line. I argued but it did no good. He gave me a speeding ticket for going 37 in a 30 on a Sunday night at midnight. The last time he stopped me, he asked where my front license plate was, I said, "in my garage, where's yours?" He said they're not required on official vehicles and gave me a fixit ticket. Fixit tickets didn't cost anything back then so I could afford to be a smart ***.

Can't and won't drive without a radar detector. When I was in France, the radars are illegal there and fine is something like automatic $1,250.00 in cash...so I ended up driving without one. Was driving like speed limit all the time with few exceptions.

AMG has been at 3x speed limit on multiple occasions, which is very stupid on my part. It is just so easy in this car, dropping the hammer in 2nd gear gives you the sling-shot effect till 90 mph.

Can't remember if it was the 996 or Xk8, but I got a mustang popped pretty good like that years ago. He was one of those asses that wants to speed but doesn't have the ***** to do it himself. He also didn't have the brains to effectively use someone as bait (e.g. staying maybe 1 car length from the "bait" car).

Before things got built up my V1 used to pick up cops hiding on the other side of a hill about 3 miles from where you got off the highway. The guy had been following me and generally being a dick on the highway and followed me off onto the other road. As soon as I came off the highway the V1 woke up and I knew exactly where the cop was. So I kept egging* him on to higher speeds and then right before the crest of the hill I jumped to the right lane and hit the brakes hard (also when there was much less traffic than there is now). He probably crested the hill doing about 95 or so. It was only a 45mph zone back then.

The look of pure hate when I finally caught up and passed him pulled over was priceless. I gave him my best **** eating grin and wave as I drove by

I'd love to know if he got lucky and was let go with just the ticket or if he got a timeout for his lack of intelligence.

* Note that by egging him on I was just increasing my speed like I always did on that stretch back then. It just had the happy benefit that I knew he would keep pacing me.

Nothing earned in the 911 although only reason is I must be living right. I don't intentionally speed it just happens in this car! Last speeding ticket was in my 1965 Sunbeam Tiger. 38mph in a 25mph. Cop smiled and said "you hit the brakes before I got you or it would have been worse." He was right. That was 40 years ago. Lost my zest for street speeding after driving a 360c.i. sprint car on dirt for a few years.
