Default Coil Pack Heat Shields

1999 3.4 L C2 Cab. New engine replace in 2004 w/ an 2001 engine.

Just replaced the coils, plugs and tubes and noticed that both heat shields are not installed.

On ebay there are shields for sale, $50 a piece.

Question is.....they claim the shields differ from 3.4L car and 3.6L cars...OK so I need the 3.4. However they claim that the same shield fits on both sides. Given the shape this seems odd given they are not symmetrical. Says they Fit 996 3.4 Carrera 1998 - 2001 Is this the case?

At $50 a pop want to make sure they will fit.

Listing on Ebay is under "New Genuine Porsche 996 3.4 Carrera Coil Pack Heat Shield"

Ahsai,

By the way, you were helping me in another of my post about the "hunting idle issue" I was having.

Turned out to be the IACV. Replaced it.

Don't forget to get the screws.......maybe check your motor to see if they are there first.

Screws did not come with the shields. Was told they would. Any one know the length they need to be or the specific part number? If I picked up at local hardware store do they have to be a certain metal i.e. stainless, alloy, etc.?

I know the thread size is the same as the bolts that attach the coil packs to the engine cause I tested them when I was in there. New coil screws came with the new coils so I have 12 of them sitting in my garage but they are to long.

Thanks.

Put a nut on the new bolts you have and cut them off to length with a dremel.

For your invaluable help. Figuratively, since I neither know you nor have the info to send it.

Thanks again and I'm sure in the future.
