^^^ I highly recommend that you sign up for Porsche Performance Driving School. Your local PCA likely offers it a couple times a year. It will teach you how to handle the car.

Now that is a nice car. I'm always happy to see another non black/silver/gray show up. Drive it like ya stole it!

I just got mine this summer too. I love Guards Red, but didnt want the "look at me factor" in a car like this. When i saw the ad for mine it was poorly lit and I thought it was Guards red, so was pleasantly surprised when he opened the garage door. I stll love Guards red, but am happier with the subtle, more classy look of the Orient Red.

You write like many on this board. I too don't typically drive
my C4 '03 996 cab in inclement weather.
However, 911's have been built out of 100% galvanized sheet metal
since the mid-70's. They do not rust. My first 911 was a '72 coupe. We lived in Massachusetts then and it was my only car (the wife had a super beetle). After three rough salt-covered winters in New England - the car
started to show rust especially the rear wheel wells.
If I didn't have a "daily driver" I'd drive the 911 year round and not worry a whit about it.
There is a guy over on the 993 board who regularly posts about his car - which has over 250,000 miles on it - original clutch and all. His avatar shows the car completely salt covered.
