Default X-Pipe Installation Question.

X-Pipe with extenders.

I'm going to install this little guy tomorrow. Do I have the extenders in the right ports? I'm assuming they belong there because that's where the cats would be. The job looks pretty straight forward, any advice is welcome.
Thank you. -T.J.
P.S. X-Pipe is by Speedtech Performance Exhausts

This should sound very nice.

Extenders look like they are in the correct place. Why do you have plugs in the primary o2 sensor bungs?

I've been looking at this same set-up. I'm very interested in your results. Are you not running both sets of O2 sensors?

I just haven't taken them out yet. I will remove the plugs before I install the Pipe. Thank you for verifying the extender placement.

Up date! X-pipe installed. Sounds amazing. I will post a before and after video of the exhaust note soon.

Glad to have these off of the car.

Dumpy old cats removed from my 996.

Speedtech makes nice products. We have installed quite a few. The X-pipes sound great on a 996.

Cheers

Just curiously did you remove the headers or mufflers to get the x-pipe in?

You don't need cats in your part of the country?

I also went with an x-pipe but with the cats still on it. Curious to hear what yours will sound like without the additional restriction. Also what mufflers are you using?

Mufflers and headers stay in during install.

So where's the before and after sound clips? Did you get a CEL(check engine light) after the install?

Hi guys, sorry it's taken me so long to respond. Here's the problem with recording a video of just revving the engine while parked, it does the sound no justice. The sounds the car make while driving are awesome. Fast acceleration verses winding out the gears and down shifting are what you really need to hear. It's loud for one thing, I've had coworkers tell me they hear me around town. At idle it's very quiet, get the RPMs up around 4K and it howls. The sound now matches the aggressive look of the car. I'm very happy with the x-pipe and recommend it greatly. I will work something out to video the car on the road. -T.J.
