Default She is back from the shop...

Just picked up my C4S. Here's what was done:

- New Billstein PSS10 suspension
- New engine mounts
- Oil + filter
- Transmission and front differential fluid change
- Brake pads + hardware
- Brake build flush
- Spark plugs and coils
- Water pump and low temp thermostat
- Serpentine belt
- Cabin air filter
- Coolant cap
- Misc door and window adjustments etc...

Previous owner had the clutch, IMS and RMS done so no need for those...

I'm so happy to have her back. Car runs great! Also, no metal on the magnetic drain plug so good to go there as well. Car currently has 52k miles.

My PSS10 is currently set at 3. Feels pretty much like the stock suspension with the exception of slightly less body roll and improved cornering/handling. My mechanic suggested I play with the setup and come back after couple of weeks for any adjustments if needed.

thanks for reading

Congrats, it must feel good to have her back.

Bilstein recommends a very narrow range to stay in the "sweet" spot. I wouldn't vary too much from there reco and get it aligned to x74 or gt3 specs along with corner weighting.

Yes, forgot to mention that corner balancing and alignment was done as well.

I would make sure you smell for coolant in the new week or so.....when I replaced my coolant cap and old reservoir cracked the next day and others have had the same thing happen to them.

Enjoy!

White out, SD meet would be good.

Regarding coolant tank, looked at the old maintenance receipts and it seems it was replaced back in 2006. We shall see how it holds with the new coolant cap.

My 2002 coolant tank was also replace ~2006 ... Was the tank of that era improved design ? I'm now 9 years on and tank does not look yellow and seems ok ...

Definitely fiddle with those PSS10 settings. I had them on my 2002 C4 and although each car is different, I had my rears set to 7 and the fronts at 5. But I went from 3 to 10 on mine and all steps in between. I would make it more stiff when I was going out for a spirited drive and then back to smoother when around town.

7 and 5 seem stiff based on my limited driving experience with them but who knows...

3 seems pretty good to me but I'll try going to 4 and 5 today to see how it reacts. Definitely an improvement overall already now.
