Default What is the stock ride height? C2

I am trying to sort through my new purchase I was approached at a gas station asking about the car and was asked what suspension package was on the car. I wasn't aware that mine was any lower than any other 996 so I simply answered "I'm not really sure"..

My ride height on 18" sport classics and OEM tire sizes is 26" to the highest point on the fender from the level ground all around.

I have searched on the net and only found numbers for turbo models with most saying a variation between 25.5 and 27.

My springs are black with no identifying marks visible with the car on the ground. Any insight? Where do your cars sit? If I were to have a spring kit I would assume it was Eibach due to the color of the springs..

I've got a '99 C4 - Rear ground to wheel arch is exactly 26.5" Fronts are 26.125" I think I may have an M030 (definitely not stock as it's not listed on options sticker) based on the colors on the springs Top - Blue, bottom Green/Red(orange? it's a little faded so not sure) but I haven't been able to verify this, as there's a lot of conflicting/confusing info. out there and nothing seems to be definitive.

My '03 C2 coupe USA stock suspension was about 26.4" at both front and rear. After X74 it is about 25.3" at both front and rear.

So yours seem to be between USA stock and X74. Maybe they are RoW 030. Check your option code label under the frunk for "030"

Thanks for posting your tire sizes. Without that, it's meaningless. For instance, if you put the optional 295s on the rear, it would raise the rear height. And 17s would also change the height, both front and rear, in different ways. Annoyingly, the amount of tread you have left matters too. As well as whether the tank is full or empty. And height will be slightly different from left to right. (Not so much that this info would help the OP know whether he has a stock suspension. But if one has a height adjustable suspension and wants to make sure they have the desired height versus stock front and rear, it matters.)

It would be great if everyone else who posted here indicated tire sizes. (And ideally also rough tread depth and how much fuel or other heavy things were in the car when they measured.)

In case it's helpful to anyone else, my stock height seems to be 61cm front, 59.9 rear (these are left-right averages). That's with 17s, 225/45 front, 255/40 rear. Tires are fairly new, so at least the fronts have good tread, though I haven't looked lately. And with a near empty tank, with no spare tire in the frunk. The non-standard front sizes probably lower the front by ~1mm. The empty tank and somewhat lightened frunk (there was some other stuff there) probably raise it by 5-6mm versus 1/2 full tank with spare. So my best guess is that with standard tires, 1/2 a tank, and the spare, the heights would be 60.6 front, 59.9 rear. I have teh RoW suspension - on a US suspension it would therefore be 61.6 and 60.9.

That's my car. Doesn't mean it's the way it should be. Doesn't even mean it was measured right. This is not easy to do quickly.

And 60cm is a lot less that 26", of course. But this is measured to the bottom of the wheel rim, not to the ground. And, according to everything I've ever heard on the subject, that is the way it should be. (And measured this way, then tire size, tread, and pressure don't matter.)

height is measured at points on the underside of the suspension to the ground. Not fenders. Its relative at the fenders as to tire sizes, springs, but factory measurements are frame. its easier to figure what springs you have . Look at the color code stripes on the spring and ask porsche or name on spring like h&r

That is indeed how Porsche says to measure it. It's not the usual way when dealing with a height adjustable suspension. And it would be great to know/confirm the standard heights from fender to bottom of the wheel rim.

whats normal? it depends on the tire size and air pressure, load in car, alignment (if it is right or wrong) angle car is sitting on. Just adjust it the way you like it, then go get it aligned. (it will change again after that)

Same for me. Same tire sizes. M030 suspension (not ROW).
