That was a 4.0. The driver likely wasn't pushing it hard.

Great video of the 993 driver.

I've driven the ring in a bmw 328i
Although the 993 driver is good I agree with whiteout that the 997 driver wasn't pushing as hard because he has a car worth over 180,000 euros.

I was blowing past lambos because they simply weren't pushing as hard - not because I was such a better driver - the ring isn't a race track where people race each other for the most part - most people come to just test themselves and their cars.(unless it's a sanctioned race event- in which case these guys wouldn't be on track)

And there are lots of accidents that can spook people

That looked really FUN no matter what limits he was or wasn't pushing.

Hey, was that The Stig without the suit and helmet?

He could barely hang on and and was still up-shifting. ***** is right!

In Mcbit's footage I don't see the driver wearing a helmet or any protective clothing...not even sure he has a competition harness on. The guy in the first clip is also sans protective clothing but at least he has a helmet on. Considering how at and often over the limit both drivers get, that's pretty scary.

Just thinking out loud now but I wonder how efficient both drivers are with that much opposite lock in their steering. They are obviously going fast but I wonder if a clock would show they could be even faster if they were smoother? I know I wouldn't be as fast them...smooth or ragged.

Here is the 993 driver: https://plus.google.com/106847518083923086430/posts

The 997 driver also chimed in on Youtube:

Hi, that´s a 997 MkII GT3, the 3.8. No RS, no 4.0 and by the way mine
Dude, you are really pushing your car to the edge. How you drive on the Nordschleife I do not risk even on much safer tracks. Big respect.
Anyway, you could have the video longer, I enjoyed seeing you cornering afterwards

Hi Norbert
That drive with you was just awesome
It was just amazing to drive behind you.
Yes I saw you had a perfect save line.
I hope to see you soon again on the Nürburgring to have together some fun

The driver of the Yellowbird was Stefan Roser, at that time, chief test driver for RUF

...on the left

Great videos. There's one of Sabine in the wet on OT that's very impressive at the start to see haw many racers she passes, and where.
