The S cars in the 996 series were only available as a MK II C4S and they use the same 320 HP engine as the C2. I think the biggest noticeable difference in power (aside from buying a turbo) would be to find an X51 car like a 40th anniversary car.
One would expect an S to be different. What about C2 vs C2 ?

Actually the C4S might feel a bit different than a mark II C2 due to the additional weight that a C4S carries.
So, to really judge, it would need to be C2 vs C2 or C4 vs C4 (not C4S).
